weight & height: 15 pounds 6 ounces and 25.83 inches long! I am in the 91st percentile for height and the 70th percentile for weight, and everyone always comments on how quickly I'm growing up! eating & sleeping: I am still drinking Mom's milk but tried formula for the first time this month and found that it was a lot more gentle on my tummy than Mommy's milk has been and keeps me more full, so I've been doing a mix of both and eat 4-5 ounces every 3-4 hours. Towards the end of the month I went through a crazy growth spurt where I was hungry ALL the time and would sometimes eat up to six ounces of milk in one sitting! exciting firsts/milestones: I rolled over from my tummy to my back all by myself! Grandma Anderson was working really hard with me on it while I was out visiting in Utah, and while out there I did it twice without any help! I haven't done it again since then, but since it happened I figured we'd better document it as the official first time! things I love: My FAVORITE thing in the entire world right now is attention from other people. I'll take it from anyone, but attention from Mom, Dad, and other kids and babies is the best! I also LOVE watching kids move around and play, and will laugh a whole bunch when my cousins or my friend H. act silly for me! I've also learned how to put things in my mouth and love gnawing on anything that I can fit in there (usually a couple of my fingers, a blanket, or my pacifier). things I don't enjoy so much: I really like being able to see everything that is happening around me, so as of late I haven't been a huge fan of laying down on my back. The ceiling just doesn't have much to offer for entertainment, and I'd much rather be sitting up or being held so that I can be part of whatever is going on! mom & dad's biggest parenting lesson so far: This past month Mom & Dad have been able to become better in-tune to what I need and what I'm trying to tell them when I cry, and have been working to feel and know that it's OK if things don't go quite as planned or expected. Mom had a really hard time introducing me to formula because she had always planned for me to drink just her milk for at least a year, but over the past few weeks has come to realize that sometimes things aren't going to go as planned, and that's OK as long as they still go well. Formula is gentle on my tummy and keeps me full and fed, and Mommy and I are still able to get lots of special bonding time in doing other things besides nursing. I know that we've said it a million times before, but over and over again we are constantly reminded that as long as we have our health and plenty of love for each other that we can make it through anything. :)
P.S. This update is about a week and a half late because our doctor's appointment got rescheduled and we wanted to be able to include Emery's height/weight in the post, but hopefully next month we'll be able to get back on schedule! :)
