Kyle thinks that I take a lot of pictures, and to be fair to him, I do. ;D Almost daily I work to photograph little pieces of our lives and to document the little moments that to many might seem fairly insignificant. Why? Because it honestly makes me feel a little sad to think back and realize that I really don't remember much about my life before the age of four, and coming to terms with the fact that Emery probably won't remember much of her life as an infant either almost breaks my heart. This is SUCH a special time for me and her and our little family, and I feel like every single day I'm creating memories with her that could easily be considered some of my happiest, sweetest memories that I'll ever have. I hope that although she may not remember all of the little details of her childhood, that the experiences we have together will still stick with her and help her to grow into a woman who is able to love freely and to feel loved by those around her. I hope that she is able to find the humor in life's situations, and to find joy in all that she does. However, while she grows, I'll still continue to take pictures, because I want to make sure that I never forget these precious little moments either, and so that I can show her the pictures one day and help her to remember them too. So here's to documenting today. It was a rainy Wednesday and not much happened, but in the afternoon we had the chance to play with just me, you and daddy. Daddy made you giggle and laugh for a bit, then went back to studying for his big, tough Pathology test coming up. You looked at me and I smiled, and then you smiled too and gave a little happy squeak, and in that moment I feel like you knew just how much Daddy and I love you, and I knew in my heart just how much you loved us both too. Thank you for this sweet little memory baby girl. I've got it written down with a picture now so that neither of us ever forget it.
