Well it's taken me a week to find the time to post but I'm finally documenting Kyle's white coat ceremony with lots of pictures as promised!! The day of the white coat ceremony was such a special and fun day that will definitely be remembered!! It was so touching to see all of the first year dental students come together with their families, loved ones, and professors supporting them to celebrate the start of this crazy journey! I had never been to a white coat ceremony before, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect but it was definitely exciting to experience! All of the dental students walked in together in a big procession line, and then after some great motivational speeches, each student got to go up and officially "receive" their white coat. It was held at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary which is a gorgeous building surrounded by beautiful grounds, and once it was finished we even got to go to the actual dental school so that we could see where the students spend all of their time! Overall the day was such a memorable experience, and I wanted to make sure and take as many pictures as possible to remember it! Below is a gallery of the pictures that I got, feel free to use them as you'd like (if used on social media please credit them back to here)! If there are any that you'd like to actually get printed, just email me so that I can send you an image actually sized for printing as well as a copyright release. Be sure to spread the love and share this post with anyone that you know that might enjoy it! Also feel free to comment/share any pictures you might have captured on the special day if you happened to be there! The more pictures the better, especially when capturing a special day like this one!!
One quick side note: These pictures are simply pictures that I took as a courtesy for friends and family to capture the event. This was not a formal photo session, there was no formal posing done on these pictures, I was not hired by the school as a photographer for the event so I unfortunately wasn't able to get pictures of everyone, and the pictures that are posted here have very light edits done on them, but have not gone through the same process as my usual work. If you are interested in seeing more of my actual photography work or are wanting to look into having your own formal session done, please feel free to visit my photography website for better examples of my work and more information. :)
One more quick side note: I was able to get a few pictures of some of the boys (most likely the ones in the pictures below) walking up to receive their white coats and shaking hands with the Dean. Because these pictures are really repetitive, I haven't put any of them up here, but if you'd like to see if I have a picture for you of that happening, just email me and I can send it to you!
Be sure to click on the individual pictures for more details! :D
I can not emphasize enough how grateful I am that Kyle and I are here in this place for this amazing dental school journey together. None of our family members came out for the ceremony, but the cheers and clapping and support that everyone in the room gave Kyle as his name was called to receive his coat literally brought tears to my eyes. There is so much love and support here, and even though we haven't been out long we really do love all of our friends out here like family! They've become our "framily" in a sense (can we make that a word?), and we can't wait for all of the wonderful adventures ahead with all of them! Congratulations Class of 2019 on the start of your wonderful dental school adventure, we can't wait to enjoy all of the journey and adventures ahead with you! :D
